Sorry if this is obvious and you already know. If a private sale you're on your own to fix. If you bought from any trade seller, the problem is theirs to fix.

I didn't know this a not many years ago, and ended up pouring money into fixing SOME of the issues with an Insignia I bought. If I'd known my rights, I would have asked the seller to fix or take the car back.

Hope you sort it, some good pointers on here.

Welcome to the forum.

The seller will never take it back, the fight wouldn't be worth it.
The DPF is currently soaking in the DPF Cleaner..... Hopefully will make a difference

Thinks I picked the wrong tube of the two. Just made some foam spray out the exhaust, not sure anything was cleaned on the way through.

It's a loop anyways , seriously do you think squirting some spray down those rubber tubes will clean a dpf . ?? You'll be on for 6 months . Good luck.

The point is that they have such a large surface are and spraying anything will not touch the surface

Many issues with Dpf, adblue and sensors, have you had any software updates recently.
Do you do motorway or town driving.
A good thrash maybe what it needs to clean the cobwebs.

Those figures indicate a blocked dpf. Best to remove to clean.

Then do check there are no boost leaks, or injector faults causing excessive smoke.

Assumed the foam would absorb through

I've only just had it but my driving will be 300 miles along the M4 each week
It looks like low mileage based on previous MOT history for the last few years

I'll book in for someone to remove it and clean it next week. Just checked Halfords and they dont remove it so I'll find somewhere else.

Why not try forcing a regen ? Drive at 2500/3000 rpm for a good half hour , I used cruise control and 4th gear at around 56/60 mph , when I did mine . Hot engine and half a tank of fuel. Plenty of videos on you tube . It won't happen if you've error codes or an Eml light though . I took my icarsoft with me and deleted codes if the eml came on ,then started driving again. Don't dismiss the dpf sensor is at fault though , they can give false information . I'd start with changing it firstly .

Its just been changed as it was faulty, along with the turbo.

It was going into regen last week on a 150 mile run, but only for about 5/10 minutes at a time

Generally, it should regen once every 400-600 miles
