To close out the thread I have decided to buy the best one I could afford and put a deposit down on this one, hope you like it! The garage confirmed that the subframe was replaced by Mercedes Benz last year, so no worries there.

Lovely, what a nice thing. I can only see prices going one way on those (up).

Hmm that's interesting, and the dealer who is selling it also said the same! Whilst I'm buying the car for the fun of driving, it would be very nice if it did go up in value as well! Are there any real signs that prices are increasing, or is this just a hypothesis or feeling in the trade about what might happen?

That is based on experience with my SL55 which went up in value from £12k to £20k. SLK55s were sold in UK RHD in similar numbers. Prices will always be strong for rarity, good condition, low miles and low owners and FMBSH. To me it beats the Boxster hands down.

Wow that's amazing, thanks! For once in my life it looks like I may have made a sensible car decision! :)

Yes, but to avoid depreciation you will need to keep the mileage low, these are very mileage sensitive. Most will advise get out there and enjoy it, and do not worry about the value.

For sure, whilst I won't be commuting in the car, I will certainly be making the most of it at the weekends!

Well done - looks good and a decent MOT history suggests it’s been well care for.

On paper it looks great and I put the deposit down due to the spec, mileage, history and good reputation of the dealership.

This is the first time I have ever put a deposit on a car without actually seeing it first though, which makes the thought of picking it up on Wednesday even more exciting! I will put some pictures on the forum when I have it! :)
