When I put my wipers on the 1st setting and then start to drive the wipers speed up to the fastest setting even when there’s very little rain on the windows, has anyone else came across this problem

Clean the windscreen in the area of the rain sensor. How old are your wiper blades?

Not sure how old the wipers are, look ok though, I’ll clean the sensor and hopefully that will work

I had a similar problem with my car. The rain sensor under the rear view mirror wasn't fastened to the screen properly.
