Intermitent headlights, hazard warning light

Hello MB,

I purchased a C180 Blueefficiency 1.6 sport 2009 about 2 years ago and the previous owner had fitted an aftermarket HID conversion kit (which I couldn't understand why), anyway about 1 month ago the hazard warning lights would randomly come on whilst driving and parked up and then switch themselves off. A couple of weeks ago the headlights started to come on when in the off position which would also effect the hazards, heated seats to not work, then the lights would work as they should which would correct the hazards and heated seats.

I thought this strange electrical behaviour was related to the HIDs so I removed the conversion kit and fitted the standard Halogen bulbs hoping the problem would be solved (NOT SOLVED).

Has any of you fine people experienced anything like this before or got any suggestions PLEASE.

That sounds SAM related. Disparate circuits doing odd things can also be a bad earth. Check the earth points near the SAM..

Thanks for your reply, is the SAM the fuse box? and which one would it be, front or rear. How do I check if its a faulty sam?

Front SAM. It really needs Star to check for any errors but checking the earth would be my first task as that costs nothing.
