A problem has just started to occur when I remove the ignition key and lock up - the dash board read out window (warning messages etc) sometimes stays on! or comes on (if it is already off) when car is unlocked. At first I thought this was linked to the delayed auto turn off of lights etc which is still set to the default 60 seconds, but after waiting to see if the window message goes off after the lights go out, I've noticed it stays on? Does this mean something is starting to fail, before this week, it has always shut down when the ignition key was removed.

Thanks in anticipation.

does it go out at all?.
All mine have stayed on for a short while (<1min)
If it doesn't go out at all, I'd try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins or so to reset the electronics and see what that does. Don't leave it as if the dash stays on, so will other thbgs and it will drag the battery down.

Hey JB, it's only the digital readout panel that stays on, but I've noticed now it does go out after a fashion but quite a while after the auto light shut down period which is approx 60 seconds. The readout comes on again when I open the drivers door. Unless I'm goin nuts (which is quite possible) I thought the readout always turned off when the key was removed from the ignition?

Gonna have to change the 60 second shut down, but not sure I can be arsed to read through the manual LOL.

Sometimes a part of my display stays on and is fairly active until the car goes to sleep about 20 mins. With my keyless go if any one touches the door handle the display will light up for a few mins then go off until the car is asleep
