In the shop is a fax copy of what looks like a "proper" M-B workshop manual but is it worth shelling out the £45 for, what does it offer that the Haynes manual does'nt?

hi,

Not sure what model 190E your running but for mine there are quite a few areas not covered...so obviously i find the Haynes manual useless in respect to those. Seem to remember the models that manual covers being listed somewhere in it...possibly on the rear cover ??

The MB manuals are designed for Mercedes (and other) trained mechanics, so for the DIY mechanic I would recommend Haynes. I have two original Mercedes manuals for cars built 1959-69 and 69-79. They are very good, but sometimes I use both of them together. I don't know about the quality of the photocopied ones sold through the club, so can't comment on those.
