MERCEDES ML270 2.7D 2000 Powersteering leak!

Hi guys ! Just have a question regarding MERCEDES ML270 2.7D 2000 power steering leak. I have just had a leak , and no oil in system. I will have to repair broken pipe by replacing , but was wondering what type of fluid does the system take can I put ATF or does it have to be PS .

Power steering fluid generally IS ATF

I was just emphasising the 'is' ...... i.e. ATF is power steering fluid

Oil cooler pipe had come off to the rad! Amazing that such a simple clamp failed to do such mess !

easy fix then , power steering pipes are big money new on the 163
