ML W163 alarm advice

I have an 53 plate ML55 recently the alarm triggers anytime of day but mainly at night. Becoming a little annoying to say the least.

Ran a star test and found a fault but looking at the fault showed no faults!!

Anyway research has pointed to interior motion sensor and glass break sensor. a common fault on the trip computer and the latest part is the fix for this problem.

with star I've removed the sensors in the AAM from present to not present, alarm still sounded at 11pm last night.

Locking the doors with the internal switch and then manually locking the drivers door seems to have worked.

Turning of tow sensor doesn't work either.

So my question is does anyone know of a way to fix this without replacing the trip computer?

Could be expired batteries in the siren, disconnect it, and the indicators will still flash if alarm triggered

Should have thought that myself... I'm slacking, removed the siren and replaced with a new one from MB today. cut the old one in half see attached.

Sorry to jump on an incredibly old post, but I have an ML 55 W163 2000 and I’m having the same issue, I cannot locate the siren For the life of me, whereabouts was it on yours please?

Tried to glimpse behind there without taking the wheel off but we couldn’t see it there, is it at the rear or is it high up and we will have to take the wheel off?

Wheel off and liner out, bit tedious but 8mm and 10mm socket gets most of the liner fixings off on Mercedes.
Just make sure to use axle stands as well as a jack to support the vehicle

Make sure you order the siren first - mb dealers.
Its not normally a shelf item but if in the UK will be at the dealers in a day. If in Germany then a week odd.

The siren on my 07 R320/W251 was behind the front offside wheel arch liner .... I know because at the time I'd followed the noise.

I can report on my 2000 ml55 w163… it’s behind the wiper motor!
