Wonder if anyone can help.
Moved some beehives (no bees) and unbeknown to me the frames contained mothballs. One rolled out and was left in the Toyota (thankfully did not use the MB) for several hours.
Gave it a deep clean but the smell still lingers (strongly).
Any ideas how to get rid of this?

I've tried all the obvious things Malcolm but the smell is so strong it just won't go away.

I think you are missing the point.

The 230TE is ideal for moving hives. I can't see why anybody would want to put a mothball in a hive.

No, neither can I - but if your car smells of mothballs, this product might get rid of the pong.

Sometimes the use of bovine expellant helps, available from your local countryside alliance outlet, the firmer the better.

Trouble with Moth Balls

On a serious note.

Going from past experience, in order to remove Moth Balls, assuming they have been located, you will need the following:

1) A tiny pair of tweezers

2) Lots of patience

3) A suitably-subdued moth.

Good Luck!

Regrettably it is no joke. I am new to beekeeping and bought some hives off the widow of a local keeper who had recently deceased. The old gentleman must have used these to control wax moth. It was only a few hours after I had unloaded the vehicle that the smell became apparent. I found one under the seat but by then it had permeated the seats / roof (i assume) Had 2 thorough cleans and fragrances etc but won't go away.
I'll try the Imtek product from the states.
Thanks for all your replies (serious and not serious).
I think this product is banned here now (carcinogenic)

Try distraction therapy - eat lots of beans and cabbage. Won't cure the problem, but it will take your mind off it!
