After many years of hoping to find a W124 estate that was a bit tidier than my 235K workhorse I eventually found one here she is Imported from Japan 18mths ago 187Km or 116K mls
Quite a lot of work done by previous owner ( was going to be a keeper ) Great Drive no rattles or clunks and at last a sweet IL6 sounds so much more refined than my 220TE so for a while I have 2

I think that 320 engine is a thing of beauty (had one in a W210 many years ago) and will hopefully last you forever. :)

The new one is black or charcoal no doubt some posh name for the shade My Old one the 220TE is bornite ( the leading one in the two car picture ) lovely colour espceially in bright light and nicely unusual ... but a nightmare to match hence the massive difference in colour from the wings to the rest of the car Problem I had with the old car is that it wasnt good enough to spend a lot on it whereas hopefully the new one is in a higher league

hi OM613 ! you probably have it came from london docklands area it lived round there for first 18 mths after import

Mm I do like 124s, look like proper cars and give such a nice ride, just keep an eye on rear sub,frame, where it bolts to body.

Yes it was going to be a keeper for him but he went back to a W115 lot of parts replaced on suspension, sensors, inlet manifold, wiper motor, throttle actuator etc .
Drives absolutely beautifully like a new car.
I have however approx 800mls in experienced a few what i hope are electrical gremlins Temp gauge suddenly blipping into concern territory, and just the other day wildly fluctuation oil pressure which has laid it up until i can get onto whether the indication is faulty or not it'll be on 3 or 2.5 bar then reduces and goes to zero resulting in hazards on and a parking up
hopefully its gauge / sender or voltage / wiring but I wont get time to look at it for a couple of weeks with current commitments & and upcoming holiday out of 4 cars we 're currently a 2 car operation
with 2 off the road at moment (CLK not sorted yet either :() not good time needed , just time , time ....
