New Guy - Needs Advice

Hi great forum, I was wondering if I could get some advice/opinions.

I am considering buying a Merc, looking to spend between 4-8K for an older model. I am looking for a solid, sporty'ish, 2dr model, I dont mind doing general maintenance myself, also wouldnt mind a bit of luxury.

I like my older cars, at this moment I am driving a 1994 Toyota MR2 and the thing is bomb proof, easy to work on, turns on rails and still puts out over 250bhp. Now looking for something a little less twitchy and a wee bit more luxury

W124 320CE sounds like your best bet.
Not exactly modern, but the best of the best, bullet proof and getting collectable.
