hi there could not find a bit to show you guys one of my hobbies making coffee tables from merc alloy wheels or other motorsport wheels here goes

ferrari race wheels

touring car wheel

porsche carrera cup alloy

i have done loads of tables over the years mainly in the winter months

Never seen it before, although I had toyed with the idea, it didnt get any further than thinking, hmm that could look nice "if".

You should try and sell them on Ebay, or to all of the decent sized garages across the UK.

i sometimes do tables for mates or the odd commission ,dont like selling on e bay or at least not these. thanks for comments. i have done coffee tables out of engines also ,here is an unfinished one v10 ferrari engine an ex m shumie .

you can see how small the engine looks compaired to an alloy wheel

this was a v10 test engine that was blown up big time
and was shipped over to scotland to the scottish ferrari race team and given to me to make a table out of it . it was never finnished because of internal politics between owner and fr /team owner here is it striped down

its the lightest engine i have ever worked on and the modular make up was fantastic

What a novel idea, they look great and would'nt take up a lot room either.

Excellent workmanship, just has to be a half decent business in there somewhere.

Recall seeing a program last year from the US of a small company who made office and home furniture etc out of odd bits of aircraft parts IIRC the people were a tad weird but the workmanship and outcomes were excellent.

yea thats the idea of them ,small tables ideal at either end of your sofa for putting small lamps on .most of my tables have lights inside or underneath or led type ,some even have been built with calipers and discs .it depends what the buyer wants. i try to get damaged alloys that i can repair and refurbish to a high standard . i will powder coat calipers and discs ant sometomes two pack the alloys for a great finish
allways on the lookout for good /different alloys was toying with the idea of casting brake calipers/discs in resin .still may happen

most have been sold to petrol heads some have been made for guys that have supplied wheels some have been ordered
my house has 5 bedrooms ,large living room and large family room, its full of motorsport bits ,oh and i forgot my motorsport room . i competed in the scottish rally championship for 25 years man and boy forest /tarmac
it holds all my trophys for that time . i also build model cars 1/24 scale
i will put up some of my rally pics if you guys are interested in motorsport

the table was never finished, due to a dispute between the ferrari owner and driver who wanted it built .internal politics bud
