Hi
I've a 2010 C220 CDI sports auto ( AMG wheels and body kit) with original Parktronic sensors. The front ones work really well BUT the rear ones only work on the close proximity "beep", the gradually increasing LED display doesn't operate in reverse!
I've only just had the car ( 1 week) and in that time I've fitted "Car Specific tow-bar electrics (13 pin Euro). What I'm not sure of is were the sensors working properly BEFORE I fitted the new kit. They certainly didn't work either before or after the re-Coding for the Trailer kit.
Now what to do next - the manufacturers of the wiring (Right Connection) say that their equipment couldn't have caused the problem BUT they suggest that an Battery Re-set is a way of restoring factory defaults !! :
I'm not sure if it's wise to do this, hence one of the reasons for asking on this forum!!
The other reason is have any of you out there any better or alternative suggestions
BTW I'm loving the car and it goes really well and it tows like a dream so generally I'm really pleased except for this issue
Thank sin anticipation
Jim

quote: One thing you could try and it is not harmful to do, is a battery reset. This means removing the air-filter mounted on the rear right side of the engine compartment when looking from the front, and disconnect the battery earth for a few seconds. This tends to reset all the car settings to default so this may have that effect? BEFORE you do this, please check with the service department of your local dealership to check if a battery disconnect will not cause any problems
