It's warm today so I put the air con on full blast. Drivers side blows hot but passenger blows cold. Haven't had it re-gased in two years. Could it be as simple as that? But then again, would nearside still be blowing cold?

sound like the duo valve.
this can happen if the valve becomes stuck internally....usually due to corrosion or poor electrical contact.
happens to my 1990's merc;s if they have not been driven for a long time.
I sometimes just gently tap them and then full fan with full hot then full cold settings for a couple of minutes.
this loosens the internal brass valves.
last year had to replace a unit.
lots on eBay but can also get repair kits if needed.

cheers raj

As Raj mentions, probably the heater dontrol valve (duo valve)
Sometimes a tap wont get it going if its like my old one!

A new valve isn't very expensive at £35 ish but its difficult to fit. You may want an indy to properly diagnose first and fit it.

Fortunately it just needed a regas. Whether pressurising the system loosened up the valves or not don't know, but it's all nice and cold now. Although - the garage had a shock when the air con wouldn't come on once it was done. The a/c light would just flash and then switch off. Turns out you have to plug a diagnostic tool in to re set the a/c which is ridiculous!
