This has got me thinking in that I had never ever had to brake so hard that the ABS cuts in, not since in Sweden 25 years ago

Obviously it's easy to provoke ABS if the surface is a bit slippery but I don't think I've ever had it activate in normal driving, even in hard stops.

The reason for brake assist is in an emergency most people don't press the brake pedal anything like hard enough.

More EU rules coming out shortly where the amount of copper in the pads has got to be reduced by quite some margin, I wonder what effect that will have on the disc and pads life, plus the braking effect.
