Halfords sell several grades and makes of battery. MB ones are Varta with MB branding on. Generally they are good. Call Fraser at MB Grangemouth for a price for yours on 01324 686002 with you reg/Vin number and he'll advise the right one and a price. They are forum supporters and do good deals on batteries and MB parts- tell him it's the forum of course...

Cant beat em £5 careful UPS delivery.
Recent battery too built 2 months ago.
Personally I think MB have a higher spec.
8 years life is not uncommon.
Plus its covered by Mobilo.

Why pay more for non std.??

I use Tayna for my batteries. Really good prices and fast delivery.

I recently bought 2 x 95Ah 019 batteries for £110 delivered.

Last year i got quotes of around £145 for a battery for my W211 E320cdi, and Mercedes quoted £99 and delivered it to the garage...

My rear battery in the R230 is from Halfords (needed it urgently on a Sunday!) And it has been absolutely fine. There are probably cheaper places to get them from (plenty online) though.

I recently purchased a Yuasa battery from Halfords , a slightly higher capacity (100ah / 900ccA ) than the MB one and with a five year manufacturers guarantee.

I prefer to purchase locally , as if there be a problem in the future i wont need to send it off to be checked / replaced to some internet seller at the other end of the country rendering the car useless for at least a week.

With a Halfords Trade Card (easy to get) the battery was £100 saving me £30 on the shop prices , the MB ones were coming in at £140 ish.

Halfords don't list a battery for the back of my Merc
On my Fathers Merc the pikey independents didn't fit an AGM battery, he gets the battery warning up all the time but then he doesn't drive it either so its to be expected. I expect the one he's got will have half the life of a proper one
