Hi guys, I'm hoping anybody can help me please?

I have a 2003 c200 kompressor automatic that is currently running a bit 'lumpy' when it is stationary. No problems driving, just at stop lights etc.

The diagnostic test gave back the following codes,
P200A? - something to do with hot film mass air flow sensor?
P2029? - format self adaptation?

Can anybody advise what course of action to take?

Thanks

Welcome!

On the basis of what you have said, it sounds like the Air Mass sensor is suspect.

Try Eurocarparts for a replacement, or a dealer. Don't try a cheapie ebay one.

That's it.

Just check with a MB dealer first in case they are cheaper.

In some cases you can prove the point by unplugging the sensor to get the engine to run onto a default map.

Going on that fault code, i would guess the pipe above and or the pipe and valve under the supercharger has spilt......

What does this mean to an engine novice like myself? :/

Get it to someone who knows the engine, changed a set of pipes the other day after another garage had the car for a week and charged the owner shed loads without fixing it.......

Do you agree I should change the air mass meter still?
And if yes, do you know anything about the one i posted from ebay?

Thanks for the advice!

This engine is one of the less lumps which needs a airmass sensor, get the said pipes checked first, cost you less money!!!

Never buy a airmass of ebay......

Is eurocar parts the only place to get the air mass filter from then?

Have I mentioned the engine management light on the dash is on also?

I'm trying to learn as much as I can myself so I can become a more competent DIY mechanic! :)

I've done a lot of reading and everything points to the MAF sensor, some people recommend cleaning it?
What are the pipes you mentioned before? Is there anywhere I can find a diagram of what to look for?
Also, are you allowed to mention the bosch outlet you use n here or is that against forum rules?

Thanks for the help!

The pipe in question which i no is your fault, is under the air cleaner box, sorry but not a job for the DIY guy, most garages miss this simple pipe/s.....

Just do a web search for a bosch outlet on line.......

The pipe is 'my' fault? What do you mean?

Colin is contending that the pipe [sic] under the air filter box is causing the symptoms that you are experiencing on your car.

He doubts very much indeed whether it is that MAF that is at fault.

Hope that is clear. :-|
