- E Class W212 E250 Sport 2013
Hi,
My engine light came on tonight and thanks for taking time i am a newbie to both this club and MB.
I have had my 2013 W212 E250 sport for about 6 months and it has now 96k on the clock with full MB service history. I noticed a slight blow from the exhaust around 2 months ago, its so slight but im sure i can hear it blowing. It was due so i took it in for a service to my mechanic who fitted the parts i supplied which were, Air, Fuel, Oil filters and 6L of mobil 1. Usually he will drop me home but i wanted to stay and have him look for the exhaust leak. He did take some time but his conclusion was there was no leak. Ive trusted him with many cars in the past but i noticed that he had put the full 6L in, probably not important but it is a fact. That got me thinking a little so i checked the dipstick when i got home it was just over the top marker, later he ensured me that was fine. Not long after around a week and unfortunalty the car is doing short runs currently so maybe 100 miles the engine light came on and the car had reduces revs etc, i took it to him and he found 1 code p2463. He explained that is was soot build up in the DPF and he could call a mobile mechanic to come out and perform a regenation so i said ok and came back later, so he plugged the car in but despite trying twice the car would not perform a regenration due to heavy soot build up, i think he said the figure needs to be lower than 200 but the reading for mine was 307 if that makes any sense. At this time this was the only code.
Maybe it was the light coming on just after the service but something didn`t feel right, i checked the oil level the next day and it was sitting in the middle of the two markers and i noticed a hissing noise coming from around the power steering pump area, i asked him to read the codes again and it now has p2463 (pending) & p2279 showing.
Any ideas what the hissing might be and could there be some false readings being reported?
Any advice would be great here please?
Thank,
Mark.
