Parking brake w203 c220 cdi

Hi

I have a c220cdi auto and when I apply the parking break then go to release it doesn't come all the way up so I have to pull out the release while lifting the peddal.

Does anyone know if this is a easy fix or garage job?
Also would the car pass a mot with this?

it will need the cable adjusting. the adjuster is under the rear seat base

Just a thought would your handbrake need ajusted at the wheels- i done my clk270 yesterday and thought after ajusting them up i would need to ajust the cable as well but my pedal came up far higher than its ever been ...although as been said you might need to ajust cable but ajust the brakes at wheels first ( if its same fitment as mine?)

The adjuster and equalizer under the rear seat will need to be lubricated

Under the rear seat cover, I packed mine with so much grease that the mechanism is no longer visible.

I have never touched the cables on a 203/9, only needs the rear shoes adjusting!!

sorry to dig up an old thread.
Today my parking rake failed (pedal goes right down to the floor with no resistance)

Not sure if the cable has snapped or just come loose.
Where is the adjuster under the rear seat?
i've lifted the carpet cover up but cant see any cable or adjuster. only 3 metal plates bolted down. a round one to the left and right (the left one has wires coming out from under it)

and a square one in the middle with 2 small bolts at the back and a large bolt at the front. is the cable under this one?

I think a main sheath has slipped out of its housing on one of the cables, this can happen if there is too much slack in the cable

yes the one in the middle is where the cable adjuster is
