Hello, it is me again :D

One problem solved another arises. To cut a long story short had a problem with lack of boost and the car going into limp mode constantly. A bit of hit and miss along the way and an inlet shutoff motor and a rebuild on the wastegate actuator it is back to normal. This is a CLS320 CDI 2007 before I forget to put it in.

Now, however I am getting a faint whistling noise when the boost is half pressure give or take and also when releasing the boost when I come off throttle. I do not mean the normal sound you would expect from a turbo car, it is more prominent than that. I am not sure if it a loose pipe connection along the way or if I have caused any actual damage during the 2-3 weeks of still using the car while having other issues. Did not really have a choice in it as this is the daily and it is my only car. This happened a couple of days after the inlet shutoff was changed which involves taking a lot of things apart including dismantling the turbo as well. Do not really feel like paying another person a few more hours labour to check it all either.

I know it can be a pain to figure out but are there any obvious ones that can be checked? I will try and get some sort of recording of it tomorrow.

Thanks

check rubber boost hoses from turbo to inlet manifold and check the intercooler. soapy water can assist with this. it sounds like you have a boost leak to me

Already spoken to the guy that did the shutoff motor last week. Will see how I get on and if the parts find their places as it seems to be just fine today and take it from there.

Thanks for your input
