I have a 2009 CLS. The driver's side windows started playing up last night.

Open the door, window drops as normal. Close door, window doesn't go back up.
Lock car, windows stays open about 10mm.

  • Door open sensor ?
  • Windows regulator ?
  • Expensive ?
  • Easy to diy ?
Cheers

Try a window reset first.
Close all doors- key in pos 2
Open window and hold button for 5 seconds
Close window and hold button for 5 seconds
Check and see if that solves it first, repeat if not...

I do that when the same thing happens...but a few days later back to square one. I wonder why. Next time I'll try opening the door again and then pushing in the switch.

Found the problem after a suggestion from another forum member.
The window drop mechanism relies on the light switch on the doo, it is intermittent.
I've pushed it in and out a few times which seems to have done the trick, doubt it'll last though.
I presume the switch needs to be changed?

I wonder what the construction is like, I may be able to get some switch cleaner on it.
