Hi, I'm looking to replace all 4 tires this year and would like to get some recommendations to think about from you.

Currently running Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV, 265/45R20 104Y. These have been 'Ok', done 27K miles and still some life in them but always feel a bit soft all round ( generally inflate to 35 PSI) and they don't have any MO approval. Front running replacements at the moment are Michelin Latitude Tour HP (265/45R20 104V NO BSW M1) which seem to get great reviews particularly for comfort and they seem to last well, or alternatively the later version Michelin Latitude Sport 3 ( 265/45R20 104Y NO BSW) which sound good but don't seem to have as many miles in them? Was also looking at the Load Rating, have always thought 104 is a bit low for the weight of this vehicle and wandered if 108 would be any different? maybe slightly firmer or is there no noticeable difference?

I'll appreciate any comments and recommendations...

NO tyres are porsche approved.

I usually trype in the tyre size I am after get what meets my needs noise, wet braking and fuel.

I gave up on tyres marked MO a long time ago - nothing more than an agreement between Merc and tyre co to make you think the tyre is special.

According to Alloy Wheels Direct the load rating should be 108 on a V or Y Speed Rating

The quietest Tyre (dB wise) is this (only 104 LR)

Rain Sharks are available in the correct Load Rating

Avon is very well rated for dB (70), wet grip "A" and noise class "B" and it is the correct Load Rating

Falken is similar to the Avon rating wise

I would say you're already using the quietest and most comfortable tyres, Goodyear Eagle F1's are usually always rated quietest in most tyre tests.
Are you from the US by any chance?

Ok thanks, have a good few months of tread left yet so will keep investigating. Am in the UK and thought the decision might have to be made last week as I picked up a nail but managed to get it repaired as it was right in the middle of the tire. I believe with the 4Matic you should replace all 4 tires together, is that correct?

Used to have a C63...
If you're only using on road, we've been very impressed with Cooper Zeon 4S on XC60 and Freelander 2 (2 sets apiece).

They transformed the XC60 steering feel, were much quieter and gave a smoother ride than the preceding Continentals.

No, my rears last about twice as long as the front and they're staggered sizes so no point in wasting half used fronts when I change the rears.

No, it's not correct. Don't waste your money.
don't try buying tyres from Costco then ;) .... they will have you believe that you do need to replace them all together. They would only sell me 4 on my R Class. MB say you do NOT need to.

The tyre manager at Costco proudly told me they all had certificates from Michelin training courses they'd all passed. Then told me all the coloured lines and dots on the tyres had no meaning whatsoever!
