In order to keep things neat and tidy on my upcoming holiday and maximise the luggage capacity I have bought:

Item:Hi-Tec Holdall Travel Weekend SportGym Hand Luggage BLK

from eBay. These bags are an exact fit to the shelf behind the seats on an R230 SL and are very light and easy to get in and out. Add a MB badge and it looks good too!

held in place by the ( now optional) luggage strap

No more conglomoration of SHMBO collection of oversized/undersized squashed bags behind my head!

Does it have the cut outs in the bottom to clear the rear of the armrest and the strap locator's for the fastening in

2 seperate bags for lightness and flexibility which sit either side of the rear centre piece. the luggage straps go through the handle.

Its a cheap (£20 for the two) but useful fix rather than your MB bag which I feel is too heavy to lift out over the seats when full, not to mention the price!

Id put up pictures, but my Nikon is back at Nikon to be fixed ( LCD screen broke!)

They sound good Steve and safe, I payed hardly anything for mine, but at £450 that is a silly price even if they are faced in leather and sport an SL badge, your link did not work, can you make it work please as there are many out there that would like something like those

I think I understand where you are but, to get this into my 129, would I have to remove the 6 cases of Beaujolais first?

Alex

This if for R230 as it has a larger boot than a 129 and therefore the 6 cases go in the boot easily. On one trip to Riems I managed 9 cases in the boot ( 6 pack champers):lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Ah, but I put the 6 cases across the back seat, which leaves ample room in the boot. ;)

Obviously the ebay link is no longer...do you have pics of the bags in place? Also the dimensions as I would like to get a couple but want to make sure I buy the right size etc

I am really very sorry to hear that. I am very pleased with what I received, otherwise I would not have recommended them to members of this forum. Let's hope it is a one-off and that you get a swift, and appropriate, response from the seller.

The seller has sold almost 20,000 items with an approval rating of 99.5%
