removing a panoramic roof

Hi all. Has anyone ever attempted to remove a panoramic roof? I've a 2003 W211 and I've a fair idea that one of the plastic sliders is broken as it sprang up while opening. I've managed to close it by holding said plastic part down but now it only opens a few inches and that's it. I'd like to take the glass out for a better look.

And what was the real problem after you removed the pano roof?

I hav'nt gotten round to it yet. Weather is too bad and I've no garage to tackle it. I'll start a new thread when I get going on it.
