Replacement 310 engine

Hello out there, can anyone help. As i have bought 1997 310 LWB with a blown engine which i have replaced with a 310 2000 model engine as im told they are the same. However we just cant get the van to start and are not sure if the fuel pump is coded or if the alarm has kicked in because of the new engine?

Any help would be grateful.
