Hello all,

I have a 1998 E300 Turbodiesel with 100k. It's a wonderful car, but is starting to have a few problems, which I'm hoping to get some pointers on.

1. Beside the drivers window button on the center console, there is a S/W switch. I believe this works as follows - 'S' (summer) car pulls off in 1st gear, 'W' (winter) car pulls off in 2nd gear - to avoid spinning on icy roads etc... Regardless of how this switch is set, my car has always pulled off in 2nd. I know 1st gear is fine as I can manually select it and the car responds accordingly. Might this just be a faulty switch, or something else?

I have several other questions, but I'll post them later.

Many thanks in advance.

Normally the switch, buy a can of lighter fuel and squirt some into the switch while rocking it, that should fix the problem.
