There must be some connection between a cold winter and a battery that does not get used much. My V70R does not get used much these days, and at the start of the cold spell it went down, just like that, and continued to loose its charge from that point on every 2 days, though it is under guarantee still, I replaced it and all is well.

I would love to know what happens to the plates, and we do have these battery rejuvenating things now that apparently bring these batteries back to life.

I think that I will try one and report back as I have the ideal candidate sitting here to test it on, and if it works I will put up the details

battery has now been sent to be tested....no problem he said most of them come back are tested and are ok but he will still replace it.

Very few battery outlets have the correct tools for testing the batteries, pleased that they are changing it, so lets hope that the next one will be good

have received new battery...the next two weeks will tell if it was the battery or not...
