You might want to get it replaced soon, the batteries last around 5 to 7 years. They do save a lot of hassle at the tolls though.

The cheapest option I've found is to use APRR. You pay around €12 for the tag then €1.70 for each month you actually use the tag. Don't use it that month then you don't pay. Billing takes place by DD on the 15th of the following month (And UK addresses and accounts are fine).

You still pay the toll as well.. just makes it a lot easier and faster. Especially if the copilot is fast asleep....

Many thanks for the info, just joined saves problems for our next trip down south, my other half always gets frustrated with the tolls.

Can highly recommend it, SWMBO loves it because it saves her any hassle. Swapped mine recently because the battery was showing as low on their website (presumably time based). Very simple to order a new tag and then return the old one.

Yes --- I did my first european road trip earlier in the year and really regretted not having the tags.....we sit very low in the car and my wife is not particularly tall and had to kneel on the seats to reach the machines....i got the glare at every toll station...
