First the wheel bolts issue, now the roof has stopped in the half way closed or half way open position.
Looks like I will have to take a drive and sort it out, goodness knows what has caused this but the roof is dead, no movement, no clicks just the display in the dash of a little roof in the half way position with no malfunctions either according to the wife. :(
Although she did say there looks like something plastic is jammed??
I better head off and see what I can find with my wiring diagram and tools
Not a good start to this car

Hopefully just the usual 'new' used car teething issues Peter. I'm sure you'll sort it.
Check the hinge flaps in case one has decided to part company and jam the movement.

Close Alistair, that is nearly what happened.
One off the flaps got lazy and caught the roof panel and stop the procedure in its operation.
I push the n/s flap up against the boot lid where it kind of stayed and it made the o/s flap fall
to cut a long story short had to tape both flaps up with tape so the roof would closed.
I guess I'll have to investigate the flap sequence this weekend, at the moment they act like floppy paddles and wont stay up tight on the boot lid :(

I'm sure Malcolm has a fix for this somewhere in the stickies.

Thanks Craig, I'll see if i can find it

Usual reason for the flaps being floppy is failure of the worm drive to the flaps? I seem to remember the flap has a small toothed wheel which engages with the worm drive; as originally fitted the wheel is too narrow and comes out of engagement. MB offer a replacement part which is a bit beefier. MBS fixed this on my SL350 a few years back.

Thanks for that Monday, it certainly feels like the wormdrive as there is a lot of play. I know I have read on here a thread about the flaps. When the left jammed on the roofs top panel I pushed the flap back against the boot lid and it made the right flap flop down, the left one stayed up, and visversa :eek:o_O:rolleyes: a job for the weekend.
