I have seen posts about this subject, and have added to these in the past but despite searching, cannot find the one I need.
So apologies for duplication , and here goes

My 55 E class (220CDI) went in today for its second C service into the local MB garage. The First (C) service was at
12.5k, and at that time the computer told me it would be another 12.5k till the next service - which has been done today at around 25k. So all OK till now, when the system is now telling me I only have 9500 miles till the next C service . I remember someone else was caught out this way - did they get a resolution ?
Why only 9,500 to go and not 12,500? I know the intervals match 15/20,000 kilometers, but now I have only 75% of the previuos time till I have to cough up another £360 for an oilchange and checkover.

Anyone had a similar experience? I've not taken up with the stealer yet, I wanted to go armed with some evidence (I'll probably be told that what the plug in computer recommends - but why??)

And the milegae countdown was more or less linear - on the 02 onwards E class, it seems impossible to extend the service interval to say 17K as per the previous model range. If I am wrong, please tell me what I am doing wrong, as my mileage is 99% motoray in top gear, at 60-75mph average!

9,500 miles implies that the ASSYST Plus has been set with the wrong oil specification.

And they wanted to fit 4 new tyres - currently at 3 and 4 mm front/rear. they reckon they wouldn't last till next service. 4mm is only half worn, for pity's sake!!!
Lord knows what they would charge, but they reckon they're competitive with Kwick fit. Yeah, right!! Any excuse to stiff the customer and extract cash. I really don't want to go near them again next time, and it's spolit the whole MB experience for me- but guess I am stuck whilst it's in warranty.

Might try another dealer next service , this one has really cheesed me off - (am I allowed to say which one it is on the forum?)
I'm awaiting a call back from the service manager there to see why the service interval has gone down

yes friend,
quite a lot of customers at dealerships have company cars and they write out a cheque without thinking about it.
But as a private customer who has to work very hard for his or her money then you start and count the pennies.
I once wrote to Mercedes and told them that my dealership thinks that the 3 point on the bonnet badge stand for " MONEY MAKING MACHINE "

Not sure on the newer cars but on the older ones with the variable service intervals you hab an A and a B service then the extras on top of that, if you had a B service and the next was an A the mileage till the next B would be limited so that the mileage between two B services didn't exceed a certain set figure, i ignore all this and service every 6 months (but then i do it myself).
These intervals are quite short by modern standards, my VW van comes up for a service every 19500 miles and doesn't have an inspection for 3yrs!
