I have very recently purchased a A160 automatic (58) and have been told by a mechanic that there is a problem with the gearbox. I took it back to the garage under the 1 month warranty but they say they can't find anything wrong?! I am used to driving a bigger (V6 3.7L) automatic, so expected this new purchase to feel like it had less umph... and there's certainly less power when I go to pull away from a standing start. I am NO engine/car buff, so am not sure what to do next? If there was a problem with the gearbox (mechanic says it's not changing up properly, although I just think it's smooth and not that noticeable??) wouldn't it have high revs at say 60mph? Sometimes it also feels like the timing is off/engine judders a little. It's had the engine pressure tested and a service was done last November. The only other thing I've read that it could be is bad diesel or that the filter needs changing... spark plugs??? Help/advice please! Thank you.
