My R129 lives outdoors, so today was a good opportunity to put the hood down for winter while totally dry. It always amazes me how well this occasional process goes, dropping the prongs into the holes and then letting the car grip and close them down.

As usual, I took it for a spin to ensure all was good, and as usual, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and quiet it always seems with the hard top on. I think replacing the headlining has really helped with the sound deadening.

So this MB driver is very happy with his car :)

It also holds the car more rigid, and makes a nice change :D:D

Much better looking with the hardtop on, especially the pano one, IMHO.

My hardtop is stored away for the winter  while I sample the delights of a Portuguese winter. Roof down most days...:D

That sounds nice :)

We are off to Spain for some sun on Saturday, but Easyjet and a rental Punto, rather than the SL, sadly.

Is there any sense in WD40'ing the female parts on the rear and on the top of the windscreen? Does this ever get covered during service?

thanks, : )
