Somethings running

Can anyone please tell me should there be anything running when no key in ignition as I can hear something running in dash but not always,also I can open the screen and the radio comes on,on my 2010 c 200 cdi.

I had a bmw and you could hear the i drive shutting down with the key out maybe similar

May need more info but if it helps my 2014 E300Hybrid and my current E350 S212 both made all sorts of noises when unlocked and when switched off.

My current car makes motorised noises after turning off and locking up for around 2 to 3 minutes.

If you have something running much after this time it does not sound right.

Example
This morning I was sat in car reading while my wife was in care home seeing her mum,keys in pocket, all quiet for about half hour then sound like a small motor starts running if I open door to see if sound outside sound stops I shut door it starts running again,but after driving to pub for lunch it’s not doing it .
Also I can open satnav screen and radio comes on (not sure if it should work without key,most cars don’t) but it shuts and goes off when first removing key.

I would say that most cars have done this for some years but then turn themselves off after 30/60 mins. EmilysMum's Citroen and my Smarts & Merc do as did my 99 &93 & 2000 Vauxhalls

Stuff hums for a while before and after key in on my w204 so I wouldn't worry.

I have noises start&/or stop when I open door,close door put key in ignition, turn ignition on, start and the reverse of all the above.Car also makes noises to itself after I leave. I put it down to Ghosts of Mercedes Past.

Two of our three MBs will happily turn on the stereo without the key and will turn it off again if key inserted/removed.

Yep
Mobilo guy said mine never really shuts down totally.
E.g. Lock car and leave the sunroof open, if it starts to rain .. it will shut the sunroof.
So rain sensor must be on after communicating with the sunroof, and lock system!
Hence he said when doing anything even charging her, to take KLG plug out, turn key to left remove it and lock it.

I didnt beleive it, so locked car and sprinkled the rain sensor with water , zrrrr sunroof shuts

And yes I can get a few little sounds after getting out.
Locking the car speeds Up the shutdown.
