Hi,

I was looking for steering column remote controls for the standard stereo on my '99 C220 CDI - whilst searching it became apparent that these controls are located on the steering wheel.

Soooooo ... has anyone retrofitted a later model wheel? I want to retain the airbag (obviously) but other than that I don't mind which model the wheel comes from, as long as everything works ...

Cheers

From what I recall steering wheel controls use CanBus and a 1999 car doesn't have CanBus.

Yea, I got that impression too .. Ive seen it done but it involved a lot more elastic-trickery than I'd be comfortable with .. manual it is! :)
