Yes, happily LK already reported that the assessor authorised repairs - I think that's at least partly due to his having a good relationship with Star and that's important in every industry. I'm very pleased for him - he would have been devastated if hadn't gone okay.

Both rear 1/4s are fine.
The left exhaust has been whacked and pushed forward but unsure yet what damage to the pipe. No damage to manifolds.
Bumper cover is scarred as are both cover panels for the parking sensors and the two centre sensors are loose.

The insurance company authorised getting the boot opening work by Star but has yet to authorize the final panel work repairs but I don't think it likely they'll say no now.

An update on the exhaust...
Took it for it's MOT today (which it passed) and Danny kindly straightened the bent pipe while it was on the ramp


So now just the wheel well, bumper, crash structure, tail light and some paint to sort.

Getting there slowly....

A completely unrelated issue this time...
MrsLK decided to wash the key to the car last weekend.
Apparently my fault for leaving it in my pocket....

After 48 hours in a bowl of rice above the boiler, a thorough cleaning with WD40 and then a soak in MEK it miraculously burst back into life.
Still going to get a replacement though as I'm not sure I'd trust it.

Well we have an update... Estimated return is Friday next week. Parts had to be ordered from ze Vaterland and are on 5 day delivery (yeah right with customs border checks as they are currently) then painting and fitting to complete.

Just goes to show how a RTA escalates ....nothing worse ( well very little anyway) then being caught up in a situation you have absolutely no control over. Its in the hands of the Gods.

I also have a silver car, it shows green, purple and blue depending upon the light though (and it has a cocoa colour interior) so I can live with it. (It was also a £5k option for the original owner... )
