Ive got a button that flops the rear headrests down but then you have to manually put them back up again. Very strange. lol

I have to say that this feature is the most useless/pointless one on the whole car. Even the way it operates is pure comedy. Do they glide gracefully out of view? No! They flop down under spring pressure and bounce around making a right racket!

To make it even more comical, someone (as I understand it) went to the trouble of engineering a vacuum system dedicated entirely to this function only for its operation (i.e. the vacuum system doesn't do anything else).

Having had it on my old W210s. Yes I believe that that is how they worked. It was a vacuum release if I remember rightly.

I'm so glad that on my current car the button both lowers and raises the rear headrests.

Discovered last night that there's an icon on the dash for when the rear screen wiper is on! Never noticed before because a flick wipe every now & then is usually enough.

Yes, that's really useful, but only for people who don't have a rear view mirror.

And then there's the 'Accident Notification System'.

Which is a large white powdery bag which comes out of the steering wheel and punches you in the face.

you can change how bright the backlighting is on the dashboard and centre console by twisting the mileage reset button. Had great fun turning it up and down yesterday trying to find the perfect balance.

Right after 3 weeks of ownership, I am still finding new stuff all the time. I love this as I am a bit of an anorak, even if it's bread and butter to some.

My favorites so far are

1. Driver's seat kindly retracts to let you in and out.
2. Roof dramatically lifts to allow you to put stuff in the boot.
3. Distronic - WOW ! (now I know how to use it)
4. Fire extinguisher (previously mentioned)
5. Keyless Go - WOW ! Love it, when you stand there and aim the key at the door handle and the roof goes down ... super cool.

Same as mine and I have always thought it was a bit odd as well.

Front cup holders in my CLS....no wait....;)

No front cupholders in the 211 either but I did buy one that fits in to the small cubby hole on the centre console and pops up like a mechanical arm.

A masterpiece of over engineering even if it does get in the way of the gear lever.

Just don't spill any liquids down there unless you think you can get by without a transmission control unit...

I modified mine.
