Tier 1 warranty worth taking?

Hi all,

My e250 turns three years old at end of month and I've been quoted £670 for another year with a tier 1 level of cover with no excess.
Any advice if this is worth taking out?
Interestingly on the website the quote was £1050 but when I rang for a quote it was £670? So if anyone is thinking of this it's worth calling them direct.

For my money that's too much , I suppose it comes down to your budget and how likely you think a three year old car is going to breakdown in the next year .
I never take extended cover on anything and in the last 30 years of adulthood I'm well ahead .
£670 is a lot of parts !

Warranty and dealer servicing (service plans) has been covered on here a few times quite extensively.
The consensus seemed to be that big engined low mileage cars would benefit from the service plan and additionally warranty and lower engine sizes less so. Very simplistic I know.
This was vs using an Independant Mercedes specialist no service plan no warranty (banking the warranty money ‘just in case’)
That said, £670 does seem pretty good for Tier 1, that’s probably quite similar to an aftermarket warranty - which most are useless !
I just took out Tier 1 on my 63 and it was £1050 ish....

Stick the money in the bank and find a decent independent Merc specialist to service it

I had a Warranty Wise policy on my previous S204 (C250CGI) and had a rear nearside door lock problem. Without the warranty, it would have cost me over £600!

My S205 will be 3 years old soon so I will be seeing what price MB quote.

Edit: just checked online and it quotes £863! EEK! Will try ringing them to see if they come up cheaper.

Just tried going back on the online quote link and when you click for more information (about extended warranties), my browser warns that the server's security certificate expired yesterday? Does the same if I use MS Edge.

I used their online chat to raise the issue and they're gonna let the IT bods know.

Terrible the way they try it on with the online price. They must lose a lot of business this way as most people wouldn't bother calling why would you? With the price being hundreds cheaper people may have taken it
