The in-car gadget tells drivers how fast to go in order to sail through a junction by ‘speaking’ to special transmitters fitted inside a traffic signal that can be up to 300 yards away.

It could also have the effect of making cars go slower in towns from all directions and that cant be a bad thing, I know that sections of the A4 in slough the traffic lights are all linked, and all is well if you keep to the limit, not quite the same thing but on the same lines

They have this in the Netherlands for free-it's called Groente Golf (spelling,maybe).It basically has a digital display by the side of the road that tells you what speed to travel at if youwant the next lights to be green.

A similiar system was talked about 20 years ago, to be fitted to buses & emergency vehicles to speed up their journeys, still waiting on that one to see the light of day.
