Vito Van Sliding Doors BOTH REPLACED from scrap yard and finally fitted in place, but the door won't lock and the interior light won't extinguish, despite the door soundly closed.

I took the sensor pin set off my working doors and fitted them to the replacement sliding doors, I even swapped left and right, but no change, just beep beep doors not closed warning.

One engineer suggested that the central computer needs to know they are new doors, but sounds a bit far fetched.
Any suggestions would be welcome

By sensor pin do you mean the contact pads?

Are your doors electric open / close? As a 115 2004 I'm assuming not.

The locks have a micro switch that tells the SAM when closed. You would be unlucky for both to be faulty, but possible.
I would suggest that the alignment could be the issue. So not allowing the lock to fully latch.
There are 3 positions for the locks, open, 1st closed latch, 2nd closed latch. Using a screw driver to manipulate the locks when the door is open will show you that.
Remember to open the locks again before actually closing.

Then there is the cable adjustment within the door. If the mechanical wire ropes aren't seated at the adjuster it can hold the locks open some.

Not electrically operated doors.
Do you know of any videos that show the adjustments you mention?

No sorry.
1st is for the doors to look visually correct.
Looking along the profile of the sides to see if the doors align as well.
Then as the door is closing try to see if the centre of the lock is aligned to the hasp. The hasp is easy to adjust. The alignments not so easy.

But essentially the hasp has to allow the lock to close to 2nd latch.

One door is 4mm towards the rear and clearly not close enough to the stop.
There doesn't appear to be much movement/adjustment, plus two bolts are hard to get to after door fitted.
