Hi
Does anyone know how to remove the intrument binnacle from a ce 230 w123?I wish to try and repair or replace the clock(integral with the rev counter)

I've removed the panel underneath the housing and have managed to push it forward slightly. The binnacle is in danger of being damaged if I use any more force.
Cheers Steve

I'm sure this has been covered before, use the search facility at the top of the page.
I think you have to disconnect the speedo cable before you can get the cluster out any distance.

I'm pretty sure this is like the 116 and it's just held in with suction. So either push from the back or use something to lever each side from the front, being careful not to damage the dash vinyl.

Like Steve said, you'll need to undo the speedo cable to get to the back properly, there should be enough slack to get the cluster out far enough to get your hands 'round the back though.

Thanks C220GJS and Chazchuzzlewitt for your advice.I think I'll try making 2 hooked pullers from 3mm dia wire, inserting them each side of the cluster
cheers steve
