Hello

Interesting problem today - both ASR and ABS lights came on and are staying on

1994 E280 Auto with 180k miles, otherwise runs like a dream

Are these two circuits connected or have I been unlucky and both have failed together ?

Can anyone advise ?

Thank you in advance
Tony

ASR and ABS are related. It sounds like a failed wheel sensor or rusty reluctor causing a bad signal.

Thanks for your reply

Are they difficult to check/replace ? Can you tell me where they are located front and back

Cheers again, Tony

Sorry - no idea where they are on a 124 but if you follow the wires that go to the hub they terminate at the sensors.

Quick update, took the car to a local indie who diagnosed little or no voltage from the OSF ABS sensor - replacement from the Mercedes dealer was a whopping £143 + VAT, fortunately I managed to obtain one from a German breaker via a well known internet auction site for £26. Job done and lights out ! Cheers, Tony
