My driver & passenger seats won’t move forward to let the passengers in at the back. When I normally press the button on the side of the seat & tilt the back rest forward the whole seat would move forward to let the passengers in but it’s stopped working. The seat moves forward & backwards via controls on the doors. Can anyone help?

My passenger seatbelt extender won’t move forward automatically. The drivers side is fine once I put the key in the ignition it extends out but not the passenger one. I have to press a switch by the automatic gear stick with a seat belt symbol. It only comes forward when I press this switch but before it worked automatically. Can anyone help?

Both of my SBE's have ceased to function.
They were both working OK.
I got home and got out of the car (left the engine running) to open the garage door. On re-entry to the car the SBE's extended (but I did not put my seat belt on), I drove the car into the garage and switched off. When I opened the door I noticed that the Drivers side SBE was extended (the passenger side had retracted) and refused to retract electrically.
I have pushed the offending SBE home but now neither work.
Anybody have any ideas?
I have the same problem - both worked fine for years but then one stopped working and so did the other in quick succession (although I can hear the eledtric motor whirring) . The Mercedes specialist who looks after my car tells me that the relay has gone.
There is only one for sale and its £360 !!!

He did fix it but then it stopped again ...

Given that the motor still seems to be working is there an alternative fix - its not the end of the world but I like everything to be working properly....

If the motor works then is there something which prevents it extending? My RH belt guide has worn so it can't extend but it tries once a second for about 5 times and then stops as it detects an obstruction.

I think access is gained by removing the rear seat base and then the quarter trim. It's not as bad as it sounds and you will be able to inspect for anything obvious. I'd be checking to see if part 122 has worn or become unattached.

Thanks Toby - my issue (and that of the OP on this thread ) is that the extenders seem to work in concert; ie once one stops working, the other also stops working almost immediately ..it started in the way that you mention with the extender seeming to be obstructed.
