W203 coupe C220cdi

Guys,

I'm looking at buying a C220 cdi & have a couple of questions.

1- I think these were euro 4 compliant from 2003, but did they have a DPF fitted ? The one I'm looking at is a 2006.

2- I generally do my own servicing and repairs, old habits die hard....... Does the 2006 have any special requirements, eg, oil level checking without a dipstick, auto 'box fluid & filter change etc.

3- Anything specific to consider when buying ?

If you can get the VIN you can check to see if it has a DPF.
Can't help with the engine dipstick but the gearbox should have a filter and oil change around 37500 miles. MB claim the boxes are sealed for life but we all know 'life' for MB is end of warranty!
Springs are pretty consumable and break fairly regularly (applies to all MBs).
Other than that the 203 is pretty robust - just look for rust, especially around the rear subframe.

If the inside of the exhaust tip is sooty it doesn't have a dpf (or it's been removed) . As LK says the VIN number will be more difinitive
