Not sure that Hill-start Assist, if that's what you're referring to, helps in the situation outlined in the post referred to. HSA helps when starting a manual on a hill as it holds the brakes for a couple of seconds in the transition between brakes and acceleration when starting on a hill only, but not on the level. Its not too much help on an auto as most self-hold to some extent.
I had a similar delay on mine while the car was making up its mind to go and it was helped by a software update applied by the dealer and it is now better than it was, but not entirely cured.
