Bought the 2012 W204 ! It was in fantastic condition and drove very smoothly. I collect it tomorrow, looks like I'm here to stay on this forum.

Thanks all for your help :D

Thanks!

Very off topic, my only gripe with the car was that it did not have the model number (C250) in chrome lettering attached to the back of the car like most cars do, i.e if you look at the back of the car it's plain.

Any idea's why and more importantly if there's a way I can add that on?!

I take them off, hate clutter on a car

You can opt for model designation deletion on most cars.

As per JB above, a lot of people debadge anyway. MB can provide the correct badging if you want to reinstate it.

Is it as simple as buying a boot badge from MB and sticking it on?! I thought these badges were screwed in from behind to keep them secure

Loads on E-Bay, even done in Black should it suite.

Thanks for everybody's help. I'm confident I've made the right choice. I picked up the car today, drives like a dream.

I did notice something unusual though, quite a bit of white 'smoke' was coming out the exhaust when idle (not when moving). It is very cold today so maybe its just fumes condensing quickly.

Anybody else notice this too?

Yes, mine does it a lot when cold... I end up with 4 contrails for the first 5 mins driving!

May also be worth running a bottle of Wynne's / Redex / STP injector cleaner through with your next full tank of go-go juice.

If last owner did a lot of short journeys, limited use of rev range etc, it can come the injectors after a while.

The cleaners above (especially Wynne's or STP) will also help protect your fuel system from corrosion.

'Come the injectors' ?
Looking at the MOT's the last owner did 4K a year so yeah I'm guessing short journeys.

Do you think this Is a serious problem, I.e should I take it back to the dealer whilst I still can?

Whoops!

"Clog" the injectors!

Shouldn't be a big issue, if that's the case. Run a bottle through the next tank, give it a few good runs once up to temp, use the rev range a bit more.... If it's not cleared in a week or two, then yes may need them to cast an eye over it. (May be worth noting it with dealer, just to get it on record).

Thanks Rotorhead :)

I'll call the dealer tomorrow to express my concerns and I'll run a bottle of Wynne's and keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed

I'd want to get something in writing to say a fault has been reported.
Phone calls are rarely proof of a complaint if there are issues later on.

Yes, good point... should've said that.

Doing so saved my bacon with this car!

Try Cataclean, very good on petrol cars, cleans the entire fuel and exhaust system.

My fathers car also "smokes" on cold start up (same engine), perfectly normal, on a petrol car short journeys are no problem at all so you have nothing to worry about.

K&N make an air filter for it as well ;-)
