W208 CLK Key Fob repair

Looked at my key few days ago here it is in piccie below
shall i ?
1 Leave it as it is? not desirable those inner bits may get damaged resulting in car not starting etc
2 put some clear resin over the end
3 can i swap the innards over to a new " outer" key shell ? i have an old W210 key fob ( or one that used to work my Vito or CLK but no longer works )

Swop the internals over - just don’t lose the immobiliser chip

Why not get a new one and have no worries. Or have you, as they say around these parts, got a mouse trap in your pocket?
