w211 e class electric folding mirror

hi, does anyone know how to stop the dry rubber noise this makes when its folding and unfolding, iv tryed wd40, if so how do i remove the cover,

Some silicone cleaner like stp can help, but whatever you put on them will tend to seep down the doors..
To be honest I don't mind it - I lock the car as I walk away and the sound of the mirrors creaking in give a nice audible confirmation that she's going to sleep.

You should be able to press the spring and slide the cover off, PTFE or Silicon spray in the moving joint will stop it, it does not dry and does not harm the paint
