w220 350 electrical problem

connecting any car back to front has always blown the brains out of the rectifier pack (diodes in the alternator), on most Mercs these are a replaceable item for not much money

the fact is started was a miracle after what you did, if body wise and mechanically its like new (especially if you replaced all 4 suspension struts - as these don't last 10 years on the w220), then worth the fight. but if a bid of a dog >70k miles its done u a big favour

My W220 is on the original struts. and just under 70k... So where does that leave me. Ha ha

So is mine on 125k,unfortunately it's not working yet.

70 k 9 years is a good life expectancy for the early airmatic struts.... DIY these days for 800, indy at 1500 quid or main dealers for 5k

or fit grown up springs

My W220 is on the original struts. and just under 70k... So where does that leave me. Ha ha

finally sorted it out. It had blown the 150 amp fuse (underneath the drivers side carpets) The fuse cost £1.50. There was no dampness at all. I had changed the sam, which did not need coding, as there was some corrosion on the old one. Fixed at a total cost of £41.50. pheeww.

Well done. That fuse must have been for the heated seats.
