I have a 320CDI W221 S Class 58 plate 76K miles. The amber suspension malfunction warning light came on earlier this week - the outline of the car with an arrow above. Took it to my local (non MB specialist) garage yesterday and their OBD scanner came up with fault code 5288 - which I understand means: airmatic compressor or leak between the compressor and valve unit or between the valve unit and central reservoir. The garage felt that there was not any pressure drop on any corner of the car but its pretty plain to me today that the front offside is down, though not touching the tyre. The garage aren't busting to sort this and suggested I do some more research on the fault before going back. So, there is a leak somewhere and it's a question of finding out where. Just wondered if anyone has any advice after coming across this code before i.e. replace certain components as a matter of course, how to track down the leak, STAR will identify the fault more accurately etc etc. As always any tips/advice from members heartily appreciated. Best wishes.
