Had to replace the D1S. My dad sent me these pics last week, luckily I was due back in Blighty this week for a short while. The offside lamp was out he said.

When I got back today the lamp was working again and the message was gone. But as the car is being left with my dad whilst I’m overseas I thought it would be best to change them.

Fortunately I’d purchased these a few months back to bring back with me. I’ve checked and they are genuine.

So when I arrived at my folks this afternoon. Had a quick brew and set about removing both front wheels and wheel arch liners to get at the lamp units. All done and swapped in 45 mins.

Doubt I will see the gains stated on the box. But should be a slight improvement over the 3yr old Phillips lamps that were 50% extra ones.

Will give them a good run out over the course of the next couple of weeks.

Car is now on a recondition charge with the CTEK MXS5.0 as again that’s not been done for a while.

Also bought this pack to put in the engine/fuel. Got a 8hr drive on Weds up to Bonny porridge land. So will stick it in prior to that.

Other than that. I drove it for the first time in about 14mths. :D

Yaaaay, picked up daughters car, from Des at Forrera, all working great. He found that the fuel filter was the factory installed one from 2001 (they have dates)
He also makes an upgraded lever for the drivers seat height, milled alloy inner, as the original ones don’t last. It was a thorough service, and it certainly feels a little perkier.
No advisories- :)
It was treated to 2 new front tyres and a “Hunter” wheel alignment earlier in the week.:geek:

Love it! I always clout the alloys on the 221, despite how careful I am. I will try and mount the kerb when turning in next time....
That metal curb is also a tyre eater on the trains, I like the ferry as I can get some sleep
